Cocktails for pregnant mamas

If you’re expecting, you might be wondering how you’re going to manage those Christmas parties with a boring old orange juice in your hand. Don’t despair – we’ve got our five favourite alcohol-free cocktail recipes to share with you. Cheers!



What you need…

2oz coconut milk

1½oz crushed pineapple

1oz pineapple juice

Crushed ice

Brown sugar to taste (no more than one tablespoon)


What to do…

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth (about 30 seconds). Pour into chilled glasses. Garnish with an orange slice, a pineapple wedge, or a maraschino cherry.




What you need…

4oz tomato juice

1 dash lemon juice

½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce

2 drops Tabasco


What to do…

Fill a large wine glass with ice. Add tomato juice, then the rest of the ingredients. Stir and garnish with a wedge of lime.




What you need…

2oz peach nectar

Chilled ginger ale


What to do…

Pour the peach nectar into a champagne flute. Slowly add the sparkling cider and serve.




What you need…


2oz cranberry juice

1oz fresh lime juice

5oz club soda or seltzer

Lime wedges for garnish

Sugar for frosting (optional


What to do…

Pour ice into a shaker or tall glass. Add cranberry juice, fresh lime juice and club soda. Shake to combine. Run a lime wedge over the outside rim of a chilled martini glass. Pour sugar onto a small plate or flat surface. Dip the rim of the glass into sugar until covered with a thin border. Strain carefully into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with lime.




What you need…


6 to 10 fresh mint leaves, rinsed and dried

2oz fresh lime juice

1tsp powdered sugar

4oz club soda

Lime wedges for garnish


What to do…

In a rocks glass, muddle mint leaves, lime juice and sugar until sugar is dissolved and mint is fragrant. Add ice. Pour in club soda. Garnish with lime.
